Privacy, in plain words

What we collect, why, and how to take it back.

Who we are

BAFOS is owned by Joseph Unomieta and operated from Nigeria. In this notice, "we" means the BAFOS team. For privacy questions, write to the email address in the footer.

What we collect, and why

Waitlist. Your email, and if you choose to give them, your name, what describes you best, the tools you use and a short note. We use these to confirm your place, decide who gets early access first, and write to you about it.

Newsletter. Your email, and your name if you give it. We use them to send product updates.

Questionnaire. Your answers. They are stored without your name. If you also leave an email and tick the box saying we may contact you, we link the answers to you so we can reply.

Visits. We count how many people visit, per day, in total. We do not use cookies for this, we do not store your address with the count, and we skip it if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.

Demo. Opening the demo sets one cookie so the demo knows you are inside it. It holds no personal data and expires after two hours.

Abuse protection. To stop bots, we count requests per network address. We keep only a scrambled version of the address, not the address itself.

Our basis for using it

We ask for your consent, and we keep a record of what you agreed to, when, and the exact wording you saw. You can withdraw consent at any time. This follows the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

Who else handles it

We use services to run the site: a database host, an email provider, a rate-limiting service and server hosting. They process data for us and only for this purpose. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to delete it, or we no longer need it. We review what we hold at least once a year and delete what we no longer need. If you unsubscribe, we keep a note that you did, so we do not email you again.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, or stop us using it. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link. For anything else, write to us and we will reply.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that matters, we will change the date below and tell subscribers in the next email.
